Kidney Disease

Well, I went to my appointment with the vascular surgeon and I will undergo surgery next month. The aim is to produce a fistula for hemo-dialysis access. Yes, is is quite high on the "EWW" scale. I am not looking forward to it. Other than that things are just peachy. I felt nauseaous all morning. I hope the Gastro-Perisis is not acting up again.

The leaves are playing wonderful colours on the sidewalks; red, orange and yellow.

The Bird-Man relationship

Kiki has lived with me for almost a year now and I often wonder what compelled me to purchase him. On that cold December morning when I was shopping at Bayshore Mall and decided to look at the animals in the Pet Shop, I had absolutely no intention of getting a pet. Let alone a bird! However, the first time I saw Kiki, I fell in love. He knew that I was going to be his owner as well. His head was stuck out between the bars of his cage, almost saying, "Here I am!"
Well, that was it. The sales lady came over and the transaction was completed. The next day, Kiki was now my room mate. He is a Red-Fronted New Zealand Parakeet, also known as a Kakariki. I never planned on getting a pet bird, but I am glad I did. Everyday is different and a new discovery with him and his new mate Reina.
